In de nieuwste Photo District Newswire leggen top-fotojournalisten, die de verkiezingscampagne in de V.S. volgen, uit waarom zij film gebruiken in plaats van digitaal: Weg met de ingeblikte eenheidsworst!

In an apparent reaction against the latest digital camera gear, magazine photojournalists are turning away from technology and getting back to the basics.

"So many of these photographers are getting these canned (digital) images," says photographer Jeff Jacobson, who covers the campaign for Time magazine. "They shoot like crazy for ten minutes, get their shot and then they leave. Meanwhile, the event is still going on and stuff is happening. I just think it's way too quick to make judgements about pictures just minutes after shooting them. It leads to a standardization of pictures, and you really stop looking and seeing and go for the obvious thing."
